Our custom cabinet makers delivered tailored joinery for the Lorne Hinterland Retreat, a secluded property in the heart of the Erskine Falls area. Brought onto the project at short notice, Cambridge Cabinets worked within a time-sensitive schedule to complete the custom cabinetry ahead of the property’s planned opening before the Christmas break.
Stepping into an established project schedule requires careful coordination. For the Lorne Hinterland Retreat, our team needed to manufacture and complete the joinery efficiently without compromising the quality, functionality or attention to detail expected from custom cabinet making services.
The result is considered joinery that complements the retreat’s secluded hinterland setting while providing practical storage and durable finishes for everyday use.
The kitchen forms a key part of the project. Its cabinetry was finished in two-pack Dulux White Cabbage, selected to complement the natural tones of Laminex Eucalyptus laminate. This combination creates a calm, understated palette that feels at home within the surrounding landscape.
Custom kitchen cabinetry with considered finishes
The kitchen joinery is paired with 40mm Caesarstone Alpine Mist benchtops. The same Caesarstone surface continues across the splashback and ledge shelf, creating a cohesive finish and giving the kitchen a strong sense of visual continuity.
Kethy stainless steel pulls were selected for the cabinet handles, providing a clean contrast against the cabinetry while offering practical, comfortable access. Throughout the custom joinery, Blum soft-close hardware was fitted to support smooth and reliable everyday operation.
Beyond the kitchen, the custom cabinetry includes robes finished in two-pack Whisper White. The restrained finish helps the wardrobes integrate neatly with the interior rather than competing with the character and outlook of the property.
